jBrowser PDF Print E-mail

jBrowser is a program that enables you to browse through historical data that has been stored by the jHistorian in the database, (either Oracle, SQL Server or Access).

The jBrowser program is a zero client application that runs via a web server and connects to the database where the historical data is being stored. Anyone who can connect to the web server can see the historical information in numerical and graphical form via their normal web browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox. (Note that other web browsers may function quite satisfactorily, but we have fully tested these two web browsers.) In this context, zero client means that no additional software need be loaded on a client machine other than the standard web browser.

With jBrowser, you can:
  • Navigate visually through a map of available tags and select the tags of interest,
  • Look at real time or historical trends of these tags on a chart,
  • Look at the data in a tabular format,
  • Save the data to a file that is suitable for other applications like spreadsheets or email applications.

jBrowser Versions
There are two versions of j5Browser available. These web pages describe the Version 4 (Web enabled) version of j5Browser. This is an entirely zero client version in that it requires no software on the client machine other than a standard browser like Internet Explorer or Firefox. The older version of j5Browser is referred to as j5Browser Client Server or j5Browser 3. We recommend you choose the new web based version as the older version will shortly be phased out.
