I have extensive experience in implementing an electronic logbook at our Institute. First for a few Users and now for several hundred Users.
I then discovered the St James Software Company which had already designed a logbook oriented towards Control Rooms. We were immediately very satisfied with the initial version of the product but we were even happier when we saw that they could develop complementary modules to finally reach the "dreaming" logbook we had in mind, with many useful functions you will never find with available "shareware logbooks".
Important to know is that I am not an expert in computing and I could design everything by myself ! Moreover, we were impressed by the reactivity of these people when we had questions or requests for further developments. At ESRF, we developed many different logbooks for different purposes, the most sophisticated one (which includes most of the functions) has been developed for the Control Room. The filtering ability is impressive and allows us to find very easily any event in the past by 1 or 2 'clicks'!. Now that the beamlines have seen it, everyone wants it for their beamlines!
I can really give you the insurance that this product is excellent, easy to configure and to use with plenty of functions. For 4 years I have dealt with the St James Software Company, I have always been extremely amazed of their excellent reactivity to solve problems or answer questions.
I remain at your disposal if you want more information since I am an extensive user of their product and I really encourage you to benefit from their proposal to make a free configuration for a free test! |
