How do I get the date search facility to work? Print E-mail

Here is how the date search field should work.

Currently, the date search field only works on the logdatetime and in my experience, (since the "general date" format varies from machine to machine,) it is better to set an explicit format for the logdatetime field. Remember, logdatetime is the the datetime that the record is first added. Here is what you need to do to get this working:

1. Click on the configure link and go to the categories section. Then select the logdatetime category.
2. In the row that says Grid, you will see the format field. (In your case, it will probably say General Date)
3. Go to http://www.sjsoft.com/docs/jlogbook/admin/dateformatting.htm (You can get to this url from the system administrator manual)
4. Select the format you would like to see the logdatetime in. On my computer, it is %d %b, %y and the dates appear as 19 Jul, 05. enter the new format in the format field in the configuration of the logdatetime category.
5. Now, when you go back to the logbook and you hover over this field, you should see something like:
Search up to this date in d b, y format (e.g. 19 Jul, 05)
6. This should now work.
