| Shift Reports: New Rich Functionality Added |

New features address the special requirements of Shift Reports A new product which specifically addresses the special needs of shift reports has just been added to the St. James Application Portfolio. Product Manager Nick Hurley explains: "Our customers have made us aware, not only of the importance of shift reports, but also of their unique requirements. Shift reports form a major anchoring point of the normal day to day operation of a process plant and very often, they are the primary referral point for operations, production, maintenance and sometimes even legal procedures." Some of the new functionality that has been added to the shift reports include: Improved annotation of each entry with cross references to the operator, time, and other fields, Automatic management of the addition of new shift reports to the on-line Intranet based logging system, Ability to automatically import templates into the logging form and also automatically attach Word, Excel, PDF and graphic files to the log at scheduled times, Automatic distribution of the shift reports via e-mail to nominated users. Software Manager David Fraser is obviously pleased with the new product: "We knew our system was already at the leading edge of this family of applications, but we felt these additional features were essential for the shift reports. It required us to develop a series of new core structures that would support an extremely flexible user configurable facility.
